Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer Service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed

Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products ordered in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
- Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
- Understand the store layout and locate products upon request.
- Stay current with ads and promotions.
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
- Promote trust and respect among associates.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety programs.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
- Report customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
- Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
