Job summary

Ridleys-Family-Markets-Inc is seeking a Bakery Clerk to support the Bakery Department with customer service, product preparation, and display maintenance. You will price, date, wrap, and merchandise bakery items while assisting guests with product knowledge in a fast-paced store environment.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED or related experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Prior bakery experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or related job experience.
• Experience as bakery clerk or similar position preferred.
• County, state and/or federal permits or certification may be required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating manuals.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
• Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
• Work together with the team to achieve store success.
• Comply with all company policies, programs and directives as specified in the Code of Conduct.
• Continually build knowledge and skills through training and education of self and other team members.
• Capable of pricing, dating, and wrapping or bagging bakery products per policies.
• Capable of recognizing the quality of and distinguishing between bakery products.
• Capable of filling, arranging, rotating and merchandising displays and display cases within the Bakery Department.
• Price and code date all bakery products clearly and accurately.
• Receive special orders properly and use suggestive selling methods when possible.
• Maintain attractive displays to increase sales and minimize losses.
• Possess knowledge of bakery items, descriptions and ingredients to answer questions.
