Qualifications

• Bakery experience and familiarity with department workflows.
• Retail experience in a fast-paced store environment.
• Second language ability (speaking, reading and/or writing).
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
• Strong communication skills with customers and teammates.
• Knowledge of basic math for pricing and measurement.
• Current food handlers permit required upon employment.

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Establish and maintain a safe, clean environment encouraging return visits.
• Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals.
• Provide answers about products and suggest items to customers.
• Prepare bakery items per orders using proper equipment.
• Offer samples and inform customers of bakery specials.
• Ensure correct portion sizes and freshness of products.
• Operate bakery equipment and follow temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and report discrepancies.
• Maintain a positive attitude and knowledge of store layout for customers.
