Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc. bakery team member position is based in Maine, Portland. You’ll help bake, prepare and display bakery items, while delivering friendly, efficient service to members. Responsibilities include handling orders, maintaining production charts and ensuring freshness and safety across all items.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to club standards, and a strong commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced retail bakery environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a bakery or customer service oriented environment preferred.
• Knowledge of bakery products preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Answers questions and recommends bakery items.
• Answers Member calls and takes special orders.
• Proofs and bakes all unfinished bakery goods by following each item’s product handling information using ovens and/or other equipment.
• Packages freshly baked goods, including cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, cakes, and other items as needed.
• Gathers products to be prepared for the next business day.
