Job summary

Quality Food Centers is seeking a Bakery Clerk/Team Member to create an outstanding customer experience in our Bakery department. You will prepare items per customer requests, offer samples, and promote bakery specials while ensuring freshness and correct portions.

The role requires strong customer service, ability to handle stress, good communication, and basic math skills. After hire, you will obtain a valid food handlers permit and maintain safety guidelines across all bakery operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers about bakery specials.
• Provide fresh, accurately portioned products to customers.
• Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Operate bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Prepare foods following temperature logs and recipes.
• Measure and mix ingredients with appropriate utensils.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Use kitchen equipment safely (stove, fryer, steamer, robot coupe).
• Maintain inventory accuracy and address discrepancies.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; log temps.
• Promote a welcoming store environment and customer trust.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety programs.
• Notify management of accidents or safety risks.
