Job summary

Balls Food Stores' Price Chopper division in Kansas City is seeking a motivated Bakery Clerk to stock, prepare baked goods, and create an inviting display. You will assist guests, label products, and ensure freshness while following safety standards.

You will work with a supportive team, handle POS transactions, monitor inventory, and help maintain department standards; prior grocery or food service experience is preferred, with a high school diploma required and flexibility for evenings,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Grocery/retail or food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is a plus.
• Experience with food preparation, baking, or kitchen equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful, and respectful service to guests.
• Maintain product presentation and department standards.
• Package, label, stock, and display bakery products with freshness and safety in mind.
• Prepare and bake items such as donuts, pastries, and cookies per schedules and standards.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Assist guests with product selection and allergen information.
• Stock and merchandise using FIFO to minimize waste and maintain presentation.
• Operate POS systems, scales, and related equipment accurately.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs or quality concerns.
• Collaborate with teammates across departments to support store operations.
• Follow company policies, safety standards, and training requirements.
• Remain productive during slower periods by assisting other areas as needed.
