Position Objective
Assist customers by producing, stocking, and packaging bakery items efficiently, friendly, and courteously.

Description
Report to the Bakery Manager. This is a non-exempt position.
Knowledge
Essential:
- Obtain a food handling permit within 14 days of employment.
- Complete ongoing training as per Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Adhere to Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
- Assist customers courteously at the bakery counter.
- Know department products, procedures, and policies to answer questions accurately.
- Merchandise products creatively, keep display cases clean and stocked.
- Meet productivity standards and follow rotation procedures to prevent stale products.
- Prepare for the next day’s operations and ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Operate, clean, and maintain equipment safely.
- Demonstrate strong verbal, interpersonal, reading, and basic math skills.
Additional Duties
- Promote sales through suggestive selling.
- Handle customer complaints professionally.
- Unload and stock incoming shipments carefully.
- Support other tasks and departments as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Reach, twist, lift up to 20 lbs, push/pull 20 lbs, stand/walk extensively, lift/carry up to 35 lbs, bend/squat, work in coolers.
Additional Abilities
- Climb ladders up to 5 ft if necessary.
