Job summary

El Super is hiring a Bakery Clerk at our Phoenix store. Under supervision from the Bakery Manager, you will assist customers with bakery purchases, maintain clean displays, and help with baking and decorating as needed. The role emphasizes friendly service in a fast-paced grocery setting.

Applicants should have Food Handler certification, basic PC skills, and physical stamina to lift up to 60 pounds. This position is part-time and supports store operations during busy periods.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery. The Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department. They will assist customers with bakery purchases, clean shelving and display cases, and clean, fill, and rotate the self‑serve displays that are both in the front of the store and adjacent to the store bakery. The Bakery Clerk will work with customers to take special orders and will also work with the Baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated. This position also helps in the department cleaning by hosing down the floors with soap and water to ensure the department cleanliness.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
