Job summary

El Super in Phoenix is seeking a Bakery Clerk for the #55 Camelback location to provide friendly, fast service in the bakery department. You will assist customers with bakery purchases, handle special orders, assist the Baker with decoration decisions, and maintain clean displays.

This role requires physical effort, including standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting up to 60 pounds. A Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required.

• Write simple correspondence and communicate with customers clearly.
• Provide friendly, customer-focused service in the bakery department.

Opportunity

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery. The Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department, assists customers with bakery purchases, cleans shelving and display cases, cleans, fills, and rotates the self‑serve displays in the front of the store and adjacent to the bakery. The Bakery Clerk will work with customers to take special orders, assist the Baker in determining which items may need to be baked or decorated, and help with department cleaning by hosing down floors with soap and water to ensure cleanliness. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store; essential functions include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling, as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Certification

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling and serving food.
