Job summary

El Super is hiring a Bakery Clerk at Fontana's El Super store #31 Foothill. Under Bakery Manager supervision, you will assist customers with bakery purchases, maintain displays, restock shelves, and help prepare items for special orders.

This fast-paced role requires good customer service, ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and basic PC skills. The starting wage is $16.90 per hour with opportunities to grow within the El Super store team.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery. The Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department. They will assist customers with bakery purchases, clean shelving and display cases. Cleans, fills, and rotates the self‑serve displays that are both in the front of the store and adjacent to the store bakery. The Bakery Clerk will work with customers to take special orders. They will also work with the Baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated. This position will also help in the department cleaning by hosing down the floors with soap and water to ensure the department cleanliness.
The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
