Responsibilities

The Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market is responsible for:

• Preparing and packaging all baked goods
• Assisting the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising baked goods
• Providing high-level customer service and ensuring Bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, presented, and the bakery area remains clean and sanitary
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazards
• Stocking, filling, facing, and ensuring pricing accuracy, while managing product rotation and discarding outdated items
• Receiving, inspecting, and logging products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality

Qualifications

To qualify as a Bakery Clerk, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years bakery experience preferred
• Be dependable, reliable, and able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Be outgoing, friendly, and able to interact positively with customers
• Have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team
• Be capable of answering phones, taking special orders, and performing general housekeeping
• Operate equipment like knives, scales, wrappers, and hand trucks safely and accurately
• Stand for up to 3 hours continuously, and handle trays and items weighing up to 40 lbs. over distances as specified
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards, maintaining a valid Food Handlers permit
