Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Bakery Clerk is responsible for:

• Preparing and packaging all baked goods
• Assisting the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
• Providing high-level customer service and ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, while maintaining cleanliness of the bakery area
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery environment and equipment, including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazards
• Stocking, filling, facing, and ensuring pricing accuracy; examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
• Receiving, inspecting, and logging products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality

Qualifications

To be a Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
• Be dependable, reliable, and flexible to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Have an outgoing, friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and strong customer interaction skills
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Be able to answer phones, take special orders, and perform general housekeeping duties
• Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks accurately
• Stand for up to 3 hours continuously, and handle physical tasks like lifting trays up to 5 lbs., and transferring items up to 40 lbs. over distances
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards, and maintain a Food Handlers permit
