Job summary

Raymer Oil- IGA is seeking a friendly, customer-focused grocery clerk to greet shoppers, price and stock items, and keep shelves fresh. You will handle baking prep, cake decorating if asked, and ensure fast, courteous service in a hometown store environment.

You must lift up to 25 lb regularly, work with others, and communicate customer needs to management. The role involves maintaining sanitation, stocking duties, and assisting with receiving and sale announcements.

Qualifications

• Effective communication, customer service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to push/pull a loaded Grocery cart.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to climb and balance on a step stool/ladder.
• Ability to sustain repetitive arm and hand motion.
• Ability to reach above shoulders and horizontally to stock and retrieve inventory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare product for sale (baking, weighing, and pricing).
• Maintain product level, quality, and freshness.
• Perform clerk function of cake decorating when requested.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area.
• Communicate customer requests to management.
• Communicate temperature breakdowns to supervisor.
• Keep supply area neat, clean, and tidy at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Front end duties to insure “no noticeable wait” standard is maintained.
• Announce specials and sale info on the PA system.
• Assist in product receiving and storage.
