Responsibilities

As a Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, your responsibilities include:

• Preparing, baking, packaging, and merchandising baked goods in collaboration with the Bakery Manager
• Providing high-quality customer service and ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented; maintaining cleanliness of the bakery area
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery environment, including cleaning shelves, floors, and equipment
• Stocking, filling, and ensuring accurate pricing and rotation of bakery products; discarding outdated or spoiled items
• Receiving, inspecting, and logging shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality
• Thriving in a fast-paced environment and being proactive in your role

Qualifications

To qualify as a Bakery Clerk, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent; with 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
• Be dependable and reliable, able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Exhibit outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Be capable of answering phones and taking special orders
• Perform general housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitizing duties
• Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Stand for up to 8 hours, with the ability to lift trays up to 5 lbs., and transfer items weighing up to 40 lbs. as needed
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards, and maintain a Food Handlers permit
