Qualifications

• Retail experience in a customer-facing role.
• Experience decorating bakery cakes or pastries is preferred.
• Ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for transactions and measurements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions about products and help customers feel welcome.
• Learn store product knowledge and suggest items.
• Offer samples and prepare bakery items per requests.
• Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Check quality and freshness, monitor dates, and use equipment properly.
• Decorate cakes and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering or shipping discrepancies to management.
• Maintain store layout and stay aware of ads and promotions.
• Adhere to health, safety, and loss-prevention policies.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and arrange repairs as needed.
• Report safety risks and incidents promptly.
