BAKERY/CAKE DECORATOR (Finance)

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Minimum Requirements:

• Any retail experience
• Any bakery/cake decorating experience
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Knowledge of basic math
• Effective communication skills

Desired Skills and Responsibilities:

• Second language skills: speaking, reading, and/or writing
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions
• Offer product samples and prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, per customer requests using proper equipment
• Recommend bakery items to customers to meet their needs
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates, and ensure freshness
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers
• Maintain inventory and stock levels, noting discrepancies
• Adhere to health, safety, and civil regulations
• Follow all merchandising, customer service, safety, and loss prevention rules
• Practice safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needed
• Report safety risks, illegal activities, and accidents
