Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bakery experience
  • Retail experience
  • Second language skills (speaking, reading, and/or writing)
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Current food handler's permit upon employment
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Must be 18 or older

Responsibilities:

  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products and store services.
  • Adhere to all health and civil code regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of counters, cases, and coolers.
  • Observe scheduled operating hours.
  • Meet daily production goals for baked goods.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work area.
  • Plan and organize development goals, prioritize tasks, and develop timelines.
  • Assist with receiving and unloading merchandise and supplies.
  • Gain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
  • Prepare special orders as requested by customers.
  • Operate bakery equipment according to guidelines.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes.
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  • Check product quality and freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
  • Use kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies and safety issues to management.
  • Maintain knowledge of store layout and product locations.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotional materials.
  • Monitor inventory and stocking conditions.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Report accidents, safety risks, and illegal activities.
  • Comply with all company policies related to merchandising, customer service, safety, and loss prevention.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
