BAKERY/BAKER (Finance)

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities:
  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer inquiries and suggestions.
  • Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of bakery specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  • Recommend bakery items to ensure customers get the products they want and need.
  • Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes using various utensils and equipment.
  • Properly prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
  • Properly use kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, etc.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Understand the store's layout and locate products upon customer request.
  • Stay current with store ads and promotions.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained, and logs are kept.
  • Reinforce safety programs, comply with safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance and report equipment issues.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents, safety risks, or illegal activities.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
