Job Title: Bakery Associate - Day Shift
Join a fast-paced, high-volume bakery production team as a Bakery Associate on the day shift. In this entry-level role, you support the production of baked goods by handling packaging, labeling, staging, and general line work. While it is entry-level, you must bring prior experience in production, food manufacturing, warehouse, or similar environments and feel comfortable working in a bakery-style setting with strict food safety and sanitation standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of baked goods, including packaging, labeling, and staging finished products for distribution.
- Follow recipes, batch instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and production schedules to ensure consistency, efficiency, and product quality.
- Work with and around bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, conveyors, and packaging lines in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform routine quality checks on products to verify proper weight, labeling accuracy, appearance, and overall quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area by following sanitation procedures, cleaning tasks, and food safety guidelines throughout the shift.
- Load ingredients, materials, and packaging supplies onto production lines and into equipment as needed to keep lines running smoothly.
- Follow all safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company procedures at all times to ensure a safe and compliant operation.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet or exceed daily production goals and targets.
- Support general production duties such as packing, stacking, and moving product as required.
- Adhere to hygiene requirements and cleanliness standards appropriate for a food manufacturing environment.
- Communicate clearly with team members and leads regarding production needs, issues, or quality concerns.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude while adapting to changing production demands.
Essential Skills
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in production, food manufacturing, warehouse, or a similar environment.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume production or bakery settings.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to follow instructions, SOPs, recipes, and batch guidelines accurately and consistently.
- Experience with packaging, labeling, sanitation, or general production work.
- Ability to stand for 10-12 hours per shift and perform repetitive tasks safely and efficiently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle materials, ingredients, and packaged products throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in varying temperature environments, including warm areas near ovens and cooler storage spaces.
- Reliable attendance record with a team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on product quality, consistency, and correct labeling.
- Ability to work early morning shifts, overtime, and flexible schedules as needed by production demands.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a structured production environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced production setting.
- Reliable transportation to ensure consistent on-time attendance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in bakery, food production, or manufacturing environments preferred.
- Experience working around or operating basic production equipment such as mixers, ovens, or packaging lines is a plus.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations including GMP, HACCP, cleanliness, and hygiene is strongly preferred.
- Experience with cleaning tasks and sanitation procedures in a food manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Comfort working under strict sanitation and GMP requirements on a production floor.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain organization and cleanliness in a busy production environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
