Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Job Description

The Quality Control Technician supports a high-volume food manufacturing operation by ensuring product quality, maintaining a safe and clean production environment, and helping new team members learn and follow established procedures. This role works closely with production leadership to support smooth shift handovers and consistent adherence to quality and safety standards on the production floor.

Responsibilities
  • Train new workers on quality control procedures, production standards, and safety practices to ensure they perform their duties correctly and consistently.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards at all times to support a clean, organized, and safe food production environment.
  • Work closely with Production Supervisors and other shift leaders to ensure effective and accurate production handovers between shifts.
  • Support and monitor quality control and quality assurance processes throughout the production line, including inspection of products and packaging.
  • Participate in quality checks related to food manufacturing and packaging, helping identify and report any deviations from specifications.
  • Assist with production activities as needed, ensuring that quality standards are integrated into daily operations.
  • Demonstrate a results-oriented approach by meeting productivity and quality goals set for the department.
  • Lead and motivate team members on the production floor to follow quality procedures and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with production staff in both Spanish and English to address quality issues, instructions, and feedback.
  • Consistently exhibit professional behavior by keeping emotions under control and maintaining a positive, cooperative attitude.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness, following safety protocols and remaining attentive to equipment, processes, and surroundings.

Work Environment

This is a 2nd shift position, typically working from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with standard 8‑hour shifts and regular Saturday work as part of the schedule. The role is based in a cookies production area focused on mixing and mini pan operations within a standard food production warehouse environment. You will work near moving equipment such as forklifts and conveyor belts, as well as other production machinery, and you can expect exposure to moderate to loud noise levels under fluorescent lighting. The facility maintains strict cleanliness and sanitation requirements, and the production environment includes the smells of cookies and other food products. Products manufactured in this facility may contain peanuts and tree nuts, and adherence to all safety and hygiene protocols is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Brunswick, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr.
