Job summary

Sam's Club in Merrillville, IN is seeking a Bakery/Packager team member to prepare fresh baked items, follow recipes, wrap and label merchandise, and assist members with bakery orders. You’ll stay on your feet, multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced club environment.

You will join a large team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service, maintain a clean, member-ready area, and support inventory, packaging, and quality control while upholding food-safety standards and club policies.

Responsibilities

• Be a Team Member: Collaborates with other associates to build a strong bakery team; communicates with team members; work in other areas as needed.
• Be an Expert: Prepares bakery merchandise based on daily production needs by operating baking equipment; follows recipes; wraps, labels, and stores merchandise; complies with food safety standards and inventory management; maintains equipment.
• Be a Techie: Uses handheld technology to drive sales, assist in production decisions, and ensure product quality.
• Be an Owner: Maintains work area per policies; ensures quality and date control for bakery items; secures fragile items; eliminates waste; assists customers with purchases.
• Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocates for the department and club by delivering high-quality service and products; shows energy and commitment.
• Complies with company policies and ethics; follows Open Door Policy and uses data/resources to improve processes; adapts to change.
