Madden’s is seeking a Bakery Assistant who is passionate and hardworking, interested in mastering baking skills. Prior experience is not required but preferred; training and mentorship will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform baking tasks as assigned by the Pastry Chef
• Clean, sanitize, and restock baking supplies for the next day
• Utilize measuring instruments, commercial mixers, and ovens effectively
• Assist the Pastry Chef in mixing, scooping, and baking procedures
• Follow recipes and standards for portion sizes and quality
• Deliver baked items to resort outlets on occasion
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance
• Follow safe work practices
• Transfer supplies between storage and work areas
• Help load and unload supplies and products
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

• Basic math skills for recipe measurements
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
• Follow procedures and work as part of a team
• Flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
• Multi-tasking and time management skills

Education/Experience

• Previous baking experience helpful
• High School Diploma or GED preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Mainly in the onsite bakery, with deliveries to all kitchens.

Physical Demands

Primarily standing for prolonged periods, ability to walk, talk, hear, occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly.

Expected Hours of Work

• Variable schedule, weekends required, shifts starting as early as 4 am but always by 6 am, generally eight hours long.
