The University of Notre Dame is hiring a Baker for the Center for Culinary Excellence, where you'll create and execute recipes in a dynamic, high-volume culinary environment. This role involves diverse baking tasks, inventory management, and participation in events, contributing to the renowned hospitality at Notre Dame.
The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety ( UOES ) division is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Baker to join the department of Center for Culinary Excellence, serving the Morris Inn Hotel and other retail outlets at the University of Notre Dame. The UOES division plays a vital role in leading the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
As a Baker, you will be integral in the production and execution of a variety of recipes, following established culinary practices within a dynamic, high-volume setting. Your responsibilities will include assisting with inventory counts, participating in recipe testing, and contributing to the development of new and exciting products. You will also complete or assist with a range of tasks related to the scaling, mixing, cooking/baking, assembly, and decoration of bakery items, always upholding the highest standards of service and hospitality to ensure exceptional food and service for the Notre Dame community and its guests. Furthermore, the Baker will be involved in meal plate-ups, event stations, and other customer-facing aspects of Three Leaf Catering and Morris Inn Banquets events.
