Job Summary

Prepares baked goods according to recipes and production specifications.

Responsibilities

• Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries per production and catering sheets; assist in production planning to meet daily requirements.
• Ensure proper food preparation using approved recipes, following production standards and using proper equipment.
• Assist with production records (waste tracking, used/unused portions, shortages); inform supervisor when supplies are low.
• Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within the work area.
• Handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area; keep display equipment clean and free of debris.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, customer‑service oriented manner; relay relevant concerns to supervisors.
• Keep up with peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently.
• Check that all food is presented, served and displayed per standards.
• Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment, ensuring corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed.
• Complete shift work, as assigned, in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with department standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule & Compensation

Full‑time; days and hours vary. Pay range: $15.00 per hour to $18.00 per hour.

Missouri State University – 901 South National Ave., Springfield, MO 65897.
