Job summary

Shaw’s and Star Market bakery is hiring a baker to prepare breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts using established recipes. You will measure, mix, shape, and bake products, decorate items, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

You will assist customers, take special orders, and help ensure a positive customer experience in a fast-paced environment where quality and consistency matter.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and a friendly, helpful demeanor.
• Experience preparing breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts using standard recipes.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain quality and presentation.
• Strong organization and time-management to meet daily bakery schedules.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work with others to support daily bakery operations.
• Comfort with a fast-paced environment and changing production needs.
• Safe operation of mixers, ovens and related equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move items.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts per recipes and production methods.
• Measure, mix, shape and bake products; decorate items as needed.
• Organize and maintain a clean, safe work area; rotate and label ingredients.
• Display finished goods in well-stocked, appealing cases; plan daily production.
• Assist customers with product questions and take special orders.
