Fresh Start SD Inc., home of SugarBears Sweet Provisions in Encinitas, CA, seeks a talented Baker/Cake Decorator to join our close-knit bakery. Bring creativity, precision, and love for cake design to daily production, decorating cakes with fondant, piping, and sugar art.

Responsibilities include baking a variety of goods, fulfilling custom cake orders on schedule, keeping a clean, food-safe workspace, and assisting with inventory.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in baking, pastry arts, or cake decorating.
• Proficiency in decorating techniques including piping, fondant work and sugar art.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

About the Role

SugarBears Sweet Provisions is looking for a talented and passionate Baker/Cake Decorator to join our sweet team in Encinitas, CA! Responsibilities

• Bake and produce a variety of fresh goods including cakes, pastries, and specialty items daily
• Design and execute custom cake decorations using fondant, buttercream, and other decorating techniques
• Fulfill custom cake orders according to customer specifications and timelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment in compliance with health codes
• Monitor and manage ingredient inventory, flagging low stock as needed
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and seasonal demands
• Ensure consistent product quality and presentation across all baked goods

Requirements

• Previous experience in baking, pastry arts, or cake decorating required
• Proficiency in cake decorating techniques including piping, fondant work, and sugar art
• Strong attention to detail and artistic eye for design and presentation
• Ability to work early morning hours and weekends as needed
• Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe certification preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Reliable, team-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced bakery environment
