We are introducing a new opportunity in Bluffton, IN. This is an exciting time to join our team. Pretzels, Inc. is now part of Hershey Salty Snacks. We have over 40 years of experience in making pretzels and delivering high-quality snacks to consumers.

Pay:

• Starting at $20.13/hr, with a $0.85/hr shift differential for overnight shifts
• Weekly pay
• $500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates

Shifts:

• 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm)
• Working 3-4 days/week with a rotating schedule: one week (Sun, Wed, Thurs), next week (Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat). This follows a 2-2-3 schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off).

Summary:

Bakers are essential in the pretzel-making process. Responsibilities include operating large mixers and extruders with programming and manual measurements. Previous machine operating experience is required; large bakery experience is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow SOPs to ensure consistent product quality
• Recognize different dough textures
• Maintain proper dough levels in hoppers
• Measure minor ingredients and perform catch samples
• Monitor dough temperature
• Inspect the flour sifter each shift
• Ensure all drives, cookers, salters, ovens, dryers, and conveyors operate correctly
• Document production metrics as required
• Record caustic levels and wet weights/lengths every 30 minutes on BakerQC
• Manage inventory in S4 Hana and record lot numbers
• Maintain salter levels
• Report product issues and shelf life to supervisors and QA
• Communicate any problems to immediate supervisors
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old at hire
• High School diploma or GED
• One month related experience or training
• Ability to understand simple instructions
• Basic math skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in manufacturing/food manufacturing, including GMP, SQF, maintenance, continuous improvement, and warehouse systems like SAP/LPR
