Job description

Cafe Francais is Tucson's only high end, 100% from scratch, local, French bakery. We are a small team consisting of 2 working baker/owners, one other baker (not including this position) and one sales person.

We are currently seeking one full-time baker. Working hours would be Tuesday - Saturday or Wednesday - Sunday 6am-2pm.

This is an hourly position of $17-$21/hr. with tips.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Bread making, shaping, and baking, including burger buns, croissant dough, sourdough, focaccia, etc.
  2. Sourdough maintenance.
  3. Making custards, buttercreams, fillings (sweet and savory).
  4. Setting the next day's bake.
  5. Putting away orders.
  6. Dish washing.
  7. Sweeping, mopping & general cleaning of the bakery and equipment.
Qualifications:
  1. A passion for baking.
  2. Previous experience as a baker, pastry chef, or in a similar role is preferred.
  3. Ability to use professional-grade kitchen appliances and equipment.
  4. Knowledge of food safety practices.
  5. Strong organizational skills.
  6. A sense of urgency.
  7. The ability to multitask effectively.
  8. Efficient in time management.
  9. Can work independently & as a team.
  10. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  11. Can follow a recipe precisely.
  12. A high level of common sense.
  13. Can stand for long periods of time.
  14. Can lift up to 50lbs.
