Job summary

Ko-Kwel Casino Resort is seeking a dedicated bakery/cake specialist to prepare diverse pastries and desserts for daily service and banquet events.

The role requires baking experience, knowledge of kitchen safety, and strong teamwork. You may be asked to decorate cakes, plate desserts, and manage stock while supporting a busy hospitality environment on Oregon’s southern coast.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in all phases of baking.
  • Must obtain a current Food Handler's card.
  • General commercial kitchen knowledge required.
  • Comfortable communicating clearly with guests and teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare breads, pies, cakes, desserts, and other pastries per house recipes.
  • Check production schedule to determine quantity and variety of baked goods.
  • Keep bakery clean and sanitized; maintain sanitation standards.
  • Distribute baked goods according to orders and inventory levels.
  • Assist with cupcake and cake decorating and dessert plating for outlets and banquets.
  • Maintain par levels of cake and dessert stocks.
  • Be self-sufficient and productive when working alone.
  • Support team and adapt to other duties as assigned.

Create the treats everyone talks about! Assist in preparing and decorating pastries, cakes, desserts and fresh baked goods while supporting banquet production and helping deliver exceptional hospitality with every bite.

What you bring to the table
  • Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
  • Prepare various breads, pies, cakes, desserts and other pastries according to the house requirements and recipes.
  • Check the production schedule to determine the variety and quantity of goods to be baked.
  • Makes sure the bakery is clean and sanitized.
  • Distribute baked goods according to orders received.
  • Assist with cupcake and cake decorating.
  • Assist with dessert plating for our outlets and banquet needs.
  • Maintains par levels of cake and dessert stocks.
  • Able to be self-sufficient and productive when working alone.
  • Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)

  • Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free workplace policies.
