You’ll work with Bakery staff to ensure fresh, safe products, monitor freshness, and support guest needs while upholding health and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

  • Team collaboration: work with Bakery staff to meet department goals and support a positive environment.
  • Honor commitments: maintain regular attendance and provide adequate notice for absences.
  • Support the team: perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description
What You’ll Do:

As a Baker at Festival Foods, you will:

  • Recipe & Production Control: Follow recipes and production lists precisely to ensure high-quality bakery and pastry items. Monitor dates and freshness, handle outdated items properly, and report shrinkage.
  • Health & Safety:Adhere to all Health Department guidelines and Festival sanitation practices. Maintain cleanliness and organization in prep areas, coolers, freezers, and dry storage.
  • Guest Service:Provide excellent customer service to our guests by assisting them with finding items, taking special orders, and addressing concerns. Answer phone calls with proper etiquette and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Stock Monitoring:Keep an eye on stock levels and service floor needs, ensuring proper assortment and production-level, especially for early mornings and evenings.
  • Quality Standards:Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
  • Team Collaboration:Work closely with all Bakery associates to meet department goals and support a positive team environment.
  • Honor Commitments:Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Support the Team:Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

To be successful in the Baker role, you should have:

  • Customer Focus:Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel.
  • Effective Problem-Solving:Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic and stressful work environment, while supporting team members.
  • Safety Awareness:Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on ovens, lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler, mixers, slicing and packaging machinery, and other equipment.
  • Retail Expertise:Knowledge of the retail food business and perishable department operations, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands:Stand in one spot for a long period of time; bend, stoop, and kneel regularly (70% of the time). Full range of upper body motion. Lift up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis (50% of the time). Frequent repetitive motion of hands and wrists.
  • Work Environment:Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (20% of the time). Frequently near moving machinery (70% of the time).

Schedule:

The Baker is a position with a work schedule that includes early mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility to work evening or overnight shifts as needed.
