General Function

Responsible for baking products for orders and replenishing displays. Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Reporting Relations

Reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home; Bakery Department Manager

Positions reporting to you: Apprentice Baker, Bakery Designer, Wrapper, Fryer

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, friendly customer service, exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions.
• Greets customers warmly and makes efforts to learn and use their names.
• Assists customers with product location, handling out-of-reach items, loading heavy items, and passing along suggestions or requests.
• Answers calls promptly and provides helpful service, including taking orders.
• Prepares bakery items, checks product freshness, and manages inventory.
• Operates bakery equipment safely and maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Follows safety guidelines and company policies, reporting issues as needed.

Secondary Duties

• Orders supplies, manages product displays, and assists in scheduling.
• Supports other store areas as needed and performs special projects.

Qualifications

Working Conditions

Exposure to flour, noise, temperature extremes, and cleaning chemicals in a fast-paced environment.

Mixer, proof box, oven, sheeter, rounder, dishwasher, fryer, cash register, and other bakery equipment.

Additional Information

Must be 18+ and available to work in a fast-paced bakery environment. Employment is full-time at an entry level with management and manufacturing functions within retail industry.
