Job Summary:

The Baker performs bakery operations, maintains, and cleans bakery equipment. The role is governed by applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare breads, pastries, desserts; calculate ingredient amounts; label and store leftovers; order supplies weekly.
• Inventory baking pans and staple ingredients; request new supplies as needed.
• Clean bakery equipment, including ovens, coolers, freezers, and doughnut machines.
• Assist with serving meals to residents and the public, as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of baking methods and food preparation.
• Understanding of sanitation and safety standards in food service.
• Ability to follow recipes and oral instructions.
• Skill in operating baking equipment.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and following instructions.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of experience in institutional baking or related field.
