Job summary

Barcel USA LLC is seeking a Bagger Operator Relief to cover breaks and keep bagging lines running smoothly. You will monitor packaging equipment, perform quality checks, and assist with basic maintenance while following 5S and OSHA standards.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years in a production setting; ability to lift up to 50 pounds, strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a production environment, preferably in the food industry.
• Knowledge of bagging machine operation and maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor bagging machinery to ensure accurate packaging per company specifications.
• Relieve primary bagger operators during breaks/shift changes without disrupting production flow.
• Adjust machine settings (e.g., weight, speed) and troubleshoot minor issues in real time.
• Conduct visual inspections of packaged products for defects (seal integrity, labeling, etc.).
• Verify compliance with specifications (net weight, batch codes, metal detection results).
• Document and elevate non-conformities to supervisors immediately.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments to bagging equipment.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures during maintenance.
• Report major malfunctions to maintenance teams promptly.
• Adhere to all OSHA standards, PPE requirements, and Barcel USA safety protocols.
• Maintain 5S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) in work areas.
• Participate in safety audits and training sessions.
• Record production output, quality checks, and downtime causes accurately.
• Complete shift logs and incident reports as required.
• Check production orders.
