Job summary

Morton Salt, Inc. is seeking a Bagger to operate bagging lines, forklift, and related equipment at our Glendale facility. The role focuses on safe handling, accurate bagging, and daily equipment checks to ensure continuous production and product quality.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, be at least 18, and bring basic mechanical aptitude and any prior manufacturing or forklift experience to contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate filling, sealing and palletizing processes for bags.
• Operate robot palletizer system and pallet inverter.
• Drive forklift to load trucks and move pallets.
• Perform daily equipment checks and report leaks or issues.
• Complete quality control tasks and paperwork, including weighing and inspections.
• Follow safety policies and work to maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Assist other employees and provide relief as needed.
• Support maintenance and housekeeping duties as required.

Job Summary

The Bagger performs a variety of tasks including but not limited to operations of assigned machinery, department housekeeping, and working in various workstations to deliver the highest quality product to our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform various tasks including filling, sealing and palletizing bags, operating the robot palletizer system, and operating the pallet inverter
• Operate a fork truck to load customer trucks or move pallets to stretch wrapper/storage.
• Perform daily inspections and reports any issues with machinery or vehicles, including leaks. If any leaks occur during the shift, contain the leak and report to a supervisor. Notify maintenance of any significant issues with scale, sealing machines, conveyor systems or robot palletizing system.
• Complete quality control tasks and paperwork, including check weighing of bags, checking lot codes, checking bags seals and fines testing (for pellets).
• Comply and assist in the promotion and implementation of the company’s policies and procedures, including safety.
• Adhere to safety rules and best practices to keep all people on the premises safe
• Assisting other employees and providing relief in performing their tasks.
• Perform cleanup tasks and maintains a clean work environment to promote a safe and clean work environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• A safety mindset and commitment to one's own safety and those of their fellow co-workers.
• Basic computer literacy
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Previous experience driving a forklift preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude preferred
