Job summary

New Weds Foods is seeking a Bagging Operator to load product into bags, verify labels and weights, and pass bags through a metal detector. The role may include additional duties as assigned by the shift supervisor or department manager.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, basic math skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Knowledge of food manufacturing is a plus, and the work environment involves production areas with machinery and detergents.

Qualifications

• Knowledge about manufacturing food preferred.
• Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, with good mathematical skills.
• Able to lift 50 lbs continuously.

Responsibilities

• Operate bagging machine to fill bags, ensure correct labeling and weight.
• Ensure metal detector is functioning properly.
• Stack bags neatly on skids with the correct skid color.
• Return unused labels to the operator for recording.
• Clean the machine and work area as required.
• Detect and report any metal detector or roller malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Comply with safety requirements and company policies.
• Report shortages to the lead operator.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Summary

The Bagger position is required to operate a bagging machine to properly fill bags with product, ensure proper labeling and weight, and ensure bags successfully pass through a metal detector before leaving the bagging area. The position may also be required to perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the shift supervisor or the department manager.

Essential Functions

• Ensure batch numbers and product code on the labels match with the product been dumped
• Make sure metal detector in good working condition.
• Stack bags neatly on skids as required and on the correct skid color.
• Return any unused label back to the operator so that it can be recorded.
• Clean machine and work area as required.
• Detect any malfunction of metal detector and rollers and report it to the supervisor.
• Comply with all safety requirements and company policies.
• Report all shortage to the lead operator.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work Environment

The job is performed in production areas where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
