Job summary

Capital Region Airport Commission is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to support the Baggage Handling System at Richmond International Airport (RIC) in Virginia. This full-time position requires hands-on mechanical skills and the ability to work safely in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities include fault response, inspections of baggage conveyors, basic maintenance tasks, and documenting work orders. Starting pay is $23.18 per hour with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Candidate should possess good mechanical skills and some electrical skills are preferred.
• Prior experience working with mechanical components relating to conveyer systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and clear faults with the baggage handling system promptly.
• Report issues that could lead to system failures.
• Perform periodic inspections of baggage conveyor equipment.
• Complete entry level Maintenance Mechanic duties as needed.
• Assist with operational issues during outages or failures.
• Document work completed using a computerized work order system.
• Participate in winter snow removal operations.
