Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Baggage Handler may be located in different areas assigned by the airline: placing bags in designated areas at customs, on conveyor belts, or transporting them to various locations. Exhibiting exceptional customer service skills and ensuring the safety of property and people are essential.

Essential Functions

• Maintain communication with the supervisor on duty at all times.
• Assist with airline luggage in the customs area for passenger pickup.
• Support behind the ticket counter by weighing bags, adding tags, and placing bags on the conveyor belt, ensuring no bags are left behind.
• Report irregularities to prevent losses and damage.
• Handle all baggage with care and safety.
• Use the time system to record punches and hours worked.

Physical Demands

This role is highly active, requiring standing or walking constantly on various surfaces, with frequent bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 70 pounds.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
• Ability to read and understand procedures and instructions.
