Job summary

Professional Business Providers Inc. seeks a Bag Jammer / Manual Encoder to help manage baggage flow at the airport by clearing bag jams and encoding bags when automated systems fail.

You will work with maintenance, control room operators, and airline staff to ensure safe, accurate, and timely processing in compliance with security procedures. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and a readiness to work shift hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Airport or conveyor environment experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, safety-critical environments.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor BHS areas for jams or interruptions and clear safely and efficiently.
• Operate manual encoding stations when read errors occur.
• Communicate system status and irregular baggage flow to control room staff.
• Follow safety procedures including LOTO and PPE requirements.
• Inspect conveyors and scanners for debris and issues during jam-clearing duties.
• Accurately record incidents and encoding data as required by Supervisor.
• Support maintenance and control room staff in identifying recurring issues for preventive action.
• Maintain awareness of system operating zones and safe work clearances.
