Kraft Heinz in Cedar Rapids is seeking a skilled Bag Prep operator for 2nd shift to support multiple lines and recipes. You will weigh ingredients, stage materials, and ensure accurate documentation while maintaining clean, safe work areas.

Candidates should be capable of lifting 50 lbs, work well under pressure, and follow all food safety procedures. This is a non-union facility with a focus on quality and safety in a high-output environment.

Responsibilities

• Weigh raw ingredients according to recipe.
• Organize ingredients according to recipes in barrels or drums.
• Perform inventory checks on ingredients.
• Stage materials according to recipe.
• Complete paperwork / IQS entries.
• Cover staged ingredients as needed.
• Place recipe tags on barrels or carts when complete.
• Clean and sanitize work area.
• Assist with other recipes as needed.
• Assemble or changeover equipment as assigned.
• Verify product quality and weights.
• Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Plant Overview:

• 3-Shift Operation
• Non- Union Facility with approximately 200 hourly staff members which are a mix of temporary and full-time associates.
• 100% Food Service, 4 bag soup lines, 1 tub line, 18 Kettles, 5 Filling lines, and 4 packaging lines.
• Products include Frozen Soups and Macaroni & Cheese

Job Overview:

Highly skilled operator, capable of being flexible and working in multiple different positions as required from day to day. Have solid knowledge of bag prep, spice, hand pre-weigh and all products’ requirements. Identify any quality concerns with the ingredients, allergen labeling or cleans/changeovers.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Weigh raw ingredients according to recipe
• Organize ingredients according to recipes by placing them in barrels, drums, etc.
• Perform constant / accurate inventory checks on ingredients according to schedules
• Stage materials according to recipe
• Complete paperwork / IQS entries
• Cover staged ingredients
• Place recipe tag on barrel / carts when recipe is complete
• Clean / Sanitize work area
• Help with other recipes as needed
• Other duties as assigned
• Assemble/changeover equipment as assigned.
• Quality (verify product quality, item numbers, weights)
• Safety (follow all required safe work practices—ie: PPE, JSA)

Qualifications:

• Must be detail-oriented and possess good organizational skills
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. above your head

• Working conditions include extremes of hot and cold temperatures.
