Job summary

Accredo Packaging, Inc. in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Bag Machine Operator to setup, run, and maintain high-speed bag-making equipment that meets customer specifications. You will monitor performance, perform quality checks, and keep a safe, clean work environment.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and able to follow detailed production orders. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with an hourly rate starting at $20 or more, depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience operating bag-making equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate bag machines and support equipment according to line orders.
  • Adjust machine settings for size, pressure, tension, and ink distribution.
  • Monitor production runs and resolve stoppages or mechanical issues.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products and document results.
  • Complete daily production paperwork including output and downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to prevent breakdowns.

The Bag Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining high-speed bag-making equipment to ensure consistent production of high-quality products that meet customer specifications. This role plays a key part in daily manufacturing operations by monitoring machine performance, resolving production issues, performing quality checks, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and committed to delivering reliable, efficient production results.

Location: 500 Industrial Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77478

Hourly rate: $20.00 or higher depending on experience.

Shift schedules available: Monday - Friday

Shift B) 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Shift C) 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM **$2 extra for shift differential

Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup and Operation
  • Set up and operate bag machines and support equipment to produce bags according to line orders and specifications.
  • Adjust machines for size, pressure, tension, and ink distribution to ensure optimal performance.
Production Management
  • Read and verify production line orders/dockets to ensure accuracy.
  • Load materials and mount cylinders for printing and bag production.
  • Monitor production runs to identify and resolve stoppages, breakdowns, or other operational issues.
Quality Assurance
  • Perform quality checks on finished products and document results.
  • Ensure products meet customer requirements and company standards.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Complete daily production paperwork, including records of output, downtime, and maintenance activities.
Workplace Safety and Maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to prevent breakdowns.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in operating bag machines or similar equipment preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret production orders and specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality of finished products.
  • Ability to maintain focus and productivity in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and moving parts.
Other Requirements
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Completion of training courses as determined by management.
  • Willingness to continue learning and developing within the role.
