Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist in Microbiology to independently perform moderate and high complexity testing, following established policies and professional guidelines. You will operate and maintain instrumentation and exercise independent judgment in testing processes.

Requirements include a Florida Medical Technologist license and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field; microbiology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related area is required.
• Florida Medical Technologist license is required or must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity testing following policies and professional guidelines.
• Operate and maintain instrumentation per laboratory procedures and CAP regulations.
• Exercise independent judgement in recognizing and solving test-related problems.
• Contribute to quality control and patient safety in a CLIA/CAP environment.
