Job summary

HireLifeScience in Charles City, IA, seeks a Quality Control Technician specialized in bacteriology and immunology to perform routine testing of manufacturing and environmental samples under cGMP.

You will handle cultures, perform pipetting, dilutions, media preparation, and maintain records, with on-site training and adherence to safety and aseptic techniques.

Contractor role focused on following established procedures; opportunities to learn zLIMS and SAP during site onboarding.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in biology, microbiology, biotechnology, chemistry, or related science preferred.
• Basic understanding of aseptic technique and contamination control.
• Ability to perform accurate pipetting and serial dilutions.
• Familiarity with microbiology culture handling or routine testing is preferred.
• Ability to follow written procedures and detailed documentation.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn LIMS and SAP.
• Ability to work safely in a regulated lab environment.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine bacteriology and immunology assays on manufacturing and related samples.
• Handle microbiology cultures using aseptic technique.
• Perform pipetting, dilutions, sample prep, and other lab techniques.
• Prepare media, reagents, and testing materials.
• Conduct media fill inspections and equipment monitoring.
• Maintain testing schedules and monitor supplies.
• Complete laboratory records and documentation per cGMP.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Follow Quality Standards, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Provide basic support for laboratory investigations with escalation as needed.
• Learn and use QC software and site systems (zLIMS, SAP).
• Support routine lab activities within scope of position.
