Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 4–7 years of data backup and recovery experience.
• Proficient understanding of backup and recovery across physical, virtual, and cloud workloads.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise backup tools (Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, CommVault) in medium to large environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve complex backup issues.
• Experience using monitoring tools and documenting configurations, runbooks, and procedures.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain required clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain backup solutions for physical, virtual, and cloud workloads with policy design and capacity planning.
• Analyze backup infrastructure performance and tune resources to meet RTO/RPO targets.
• Perform complex restores including point-in-time, granular recovery, and DR exercises.
• Implement backup encryption, key management, and RBAC to protect data.
• Document and test disaster recovery runbooks with periodic failover drills.
• Integrate backup with monitoring/reporting dashboards for leadership insights.
• Troubleshoot job failures and bottlenecks with root-cause analysis.
• Mentor junior staff on best practices for data protection and documentation.
