Silgan Containers is seeking a Backup Operator for the Ottawa, Ohio facility to support blowing operations and quality control during the 7PM–7AM shift. The role requires lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for long periods, and performing changeovers as needed.

Training will cover blow mold basics and safety procedures to ensure product quality and worker safety. Responsibilities include taking readings, operating blow molding equipment, maintaining a clean, organized work area, and supporting

## Backup Operator 7PM to 7AMApply: On Site: Ottawa, Ohio: Full time: Posted Today: R8439## **MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:## Fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all duties listed below:* ## All related paperwork* ## Taking readings (all bottle measurements)* ## Running the blow molder and all downstream components* ## Cleaning molds* ## Assist with changeovers* ## Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines* ## Inspect work areas, and look for unsafe acts/conditions* ## Effectively use verbal and written communications* ## Maintain a clean and safe working environment* ## Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary* ## Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures## **EDUCATION:**## **Required:** High School Diploma or GED equivalent## ## **SKILLS:*** ## Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds continuously throughout the shift* ## Work involves continuous lifting, bending, reaching and twisting## **SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:*** ## Willingness to be trained on the following before starting their duties:* ## Blow mold basics 6 wk. Operator Training Course, subject to a formal evaluation at 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and additional periodic intervals by the Trainer and Supervisor and decisions will be made accordingly* ## This position requires the cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with attention to detail.
