Job summary

Southern Company is seeking an Analyst, Backup/Data Protection to support operation, administration, and continuous improvement of the enterprise Cyber Recovery Vault environment. You will manage Dell Cyber Recovery Vault components, CyberSense analytics, and associated Linux/VMware infrastructure to ensure reliable recovery from cyber events.

Responsibilities include vault isolation, health checks, backup replication workflows, and documentation for audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred.
• Operational experience with enterprise infrastructure operations, backup/recovery platforms, Linux, VMware, or networked storage environments.
• Knowledge of backup replication, cyber recovery, disaster recovery, isolated recovery environments, or data protection concepts.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across OS, storage, backup, virtualization, and network domains.
• Ability to follow change management, incident management, security, compliance, and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer Dell Cyber Recovery Vault infrastructure and recovery components.
• Maintain CyberSense analytics services including job validation, alert review, and escalation.
• Verify vault isolation, air-gap operations, synchronization, and access controls.
• Monitor vault health, remediation, and readiness reviews.
• Coordinate maintenance windows and recovery testing exercises.
• Maintain runbooks, configuration records, and evidence for audits.
