Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an experienced Backup Engineer to administer and optimize Veeam Backup & Replication environments across IBM, EMC, Veritas and VEEAM platforms. You will act as Level 3 escalation, perform RCAs, and implement permanent solutions while guiding junior engineers.

You will configure and maintain backup, replication, restore, and DR operations; support cloud integrations with Azure and AWS; conduct health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning; document SOPs and share

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in backup administration and DR operations.
• Proven expertise with Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam ONE.
• Azure/AWS/Google Cloud certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer Veeam Backup & Replication environments across multiple vendors.
• Act as Level 3 escalation for complex issues.
• Perform RCA and implement permanent fixes.
• Configure Veeam Cloud Connect, SureBackup, SureReplica, and Veeam ONE.
• Support VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and physical servers.
• Mentor L1/L2 engineers and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Participate in on-call support and major incident management.
• Capacity planning and performance optimization.
• Create SOPs and knowledge base articles.

Job description

Administering the Multiple backup Management Console Server and command line exposure for IBM, EMC, Veritas and VEEAM.

Act as the Level 3 escalation point for complex Veeam Backup & Replication issues.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent solutions.

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Veeam Backup & Replication environments.

Manage backup, replication, restore, and disaster recovery operations.

Troubleshoot backup failures, repository issues, proxy servers, and performance bottlenecks.

Configure and support Veeam Cloud Connect, SureBackup, SureReplica, Enterprise Manager, and Veeam ONE.

Support VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and physical server backup environments.

Integrate Veeam with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.

Perform backup health checks, capacity planning, and performance optimization.

Create technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

Mentor L1/L2 engineers and conduct technical knowledge-sharing sessions.

Participate in on-call support and major incident management.

Daily review and resolution of client and server backup issues. Capacity planning within the backup environment

Good documentation skill to document the day-to-day events for tracking and review, process documentation, Preparing SOP (Service Operation Procedure) documents, Creating and maintaining technical knowledge base

Skill Requirements

Soft Skils

Certification Requirement Certification on Azure/AWS/Google Cloud would be preferred
