Job summary

Public Consulting Group LLC is seeking a Background Check Specialist to manage statewide background checks for Wisconsin DCF and related agencies. You will create and maintain reports, dashboards, and schedules to meet strict deadlines while collaborating with management to improve efficiency.

Requirements include a high school diploma (bachelor's preferred), strong accuracy, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years in payroll, accounts payable, or finance in an automated system environment preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; strong accuracy and attention to detail required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Run statewide and Milwaukee County child abuse or neglect background checks for in-state and out-of-state agencies.
• Populate management reports and dashboards and create regular/ad hoc reporting.
• Develop schedules to meet deliverable deadlines for all assignments.
• Collaborate with management on efficiency improvements.

This position will be part of the team responsible for PCG’s federal revenue management for the Wisconsin Department of Children & Families (DCF), the agency that manages foster care and other child welfare activities in Wisconsin.

Overall Responsibilities:

This position will be part of the team responsible for PCG’s federal revenue management for the Wisconsin Department of Children & Families (DCF), the agency that manages foster care and other child welfare activities in Wisconsin.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Runs statewide and Milwaukee County Child abuse or neglect background checks on behalf of in-state and out-of-state governmental agencies.
• Populates management reports and dashboards.
• Creates and maintains regular and ad hoc reporting as assigned.
• Develops schedules to meet deliverable deadlines for all assignments.
• Collaborates with management on means of improving efficiency.

Required Experience:

High School Diploma or required relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1-2 years’ experience in payroll and accounts payable operations or finance, preferably in an automated system environment.

Compensation:

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.

• Range: $46,100 - $55,000
• PCG does not sponsor newly hired foreign national workers for work authorization, including H-1B sponsorship
