Job summary

Honolulu Board of Water Supply in Honolulu is seeking a Cross-Connection Control Technician to perform routine cross-connection and backflow prevention duties under supervision.

The role includes plan reviews, field inspections, testing and certification of backflow assemblies, and data management. A valid driver’s license is required, plus education and experience in blueprint reading. Good physical condition for field work is expected.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in reviewing and reading blueprints or construction plans.
• Equivalent to graduation from high school for education requirement.
• Possession of a valid driver's license (Type 3) prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans for cross-connection and backflow compliance.
• Assist in conducting field inspections and testing of backflow prevention assemblies.
• Test, inspect, maintain, repair and certify backflow prevention assemblies.
• Record, update and maintain data in manual and electronic files.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
