Job summary

Garney seeks a Backfill Operator with construction experience to operate machinery for excavating, backfilling, trenching and finishing work on active sites. You may perform laborer tasks as needed.

This role requires reliability, ability to work in a crew, and willingness to travel and overtime. You will be responsible for equipment operation and completing site cleanup to project standards.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in construction experience.
• Firm knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance.
• Must be willing to work overtime and travel.

Responsibilities

• Backfilling the ditch properly after the pipe is laid.
• Do the backfill in a safe manner as part of a crew.
• Perform operator level maintenance on the machine.
• Move the trench boxes from the ditch.
