Job summary

Garney is seeking a Backfill Operator with construction experience to join our field crew. You will operate machinery to excavate, backfill, trench, ditch, clear, grade, and perform final cleanup as part of a crew.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in construction, is able to work overtime and travel, and can maintain equipment while protecting safety on site. This role offers a stable path with full-time opportunities and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Two to five years in construction experience.
• Must be willing to work overtime and travel.
• Firm Knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance.
• Utility work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Backfill the ditch properly after the pipe is laid.
• Do the backfill in a safe manner as part of a crew.
• Perform operator level maintenance on the machine.
• Move the trench boxes from the ditch.
